Squaw Mtn. Run is Almost Here!

Auburn Ski Club Training Center is pleased to present the 38th Annual Squaw Mountain Run at Squaw Valley on Sat., July 28th, an event which has become an anticipated annual pilgrimage for hundreds of runners and hikers over the years.

Starting at 6,200 ft., the course climbs the 3.6 mile Mountain Run to High Camp at an elevation of 8,200 ft., where participants savor the completion of a challenging athletic endeavor with awards, music from gBrownSounds, a raffle and refreshments amid one of the most breathtaking backdrops nature has to offer. The top male and female finishers will be crowned King and Queen of the Mountain and each receive $125, with the second and third place finishers sharing the remainder of the $500 cash purse.

The event also includes other opportunities – the annual Flower Walk with guides from the Tahoe Institute of Natural Sciences and a new Yoga for Life class. Breathe, move and flow together with local teachers Nikki Dean, Meg McCraken and Meghan Ruiz to support those going through the challenging journey of cancer. This class is suitable for all ages and fitness levels, with all proceeds going to FREE complimentary care therapies for cancer patients and their families. Registration fees for the Flower Walk and Yoga class include a free Tram ride to High Camp, raffle entry and a souvenir beer mug.

The Squaw Mountain Run, in addition to raising funds for ASCTC’s Nordic and Biathlon programs, also benefits for the Gene Upshaw Cancer Center at Tahoe Forest Hospital. Participation is the SMR has become an annual affirmation of life for many who have had personal struggles with cancer, or choose to honor the memory of a loved one who has succumbed to the disease.

Entry fees are only $45 for adults through July 26th, increasing to $50 on July 27th and $65 on race day, so register now! All participants receive a complimentary Squaw Mountain Run beer glass at the finish along with refreshments at the after party at High Camp!
